At Ludlow Street Healthcare we value the professional development of every member of our team. We are committed to providing relevant, high quality training, enabling staff to grow within the company. We are continually investing in our training capability as we believe this is the key to delivering exceptional standards in care, staff progression and personal fulfilment. Our Training Strategy sets out exciting plans for the future and will build on the following:
- An in-house development team based at our Training Centre located in the centre of Cardiff
- A well recognised Company and Unit Induction Programme
- Compulsory training in statutory areas
- Expanding range of NVQ programmes (e.g. Health & Social Care, Customer Services)
- A Nursing Development Framework linking performance to pay, underpinned by our own Nursing Competencies
- Company supported professional development in key areas
- A range of healthcare related e-learning courses
As a new employee of the Company you can expect to spend up to 2 weeks at our Training Centre on Induction before working on your specific unit or in your department. We believe this to be a necessary investment to make so that you get an overview of the organisation, an opportunity to learn what is expected of you, as well as essential practical training. The knowledge and skills gained are a vital support in helping you to successfully adapt to the organisation and your role.
Statutory training delivered at the Induction is followed up with regular refresher training, keeping your skills and knowledge updated.
The Training Department is also able to respond to requests for tailored training. Specific training needs are often identified through the supervision and appraisal process.
