Staff Nurse Newport

How would you summarise your role?

“I am a Staff Nurse and I take care of our clients and also support the Support Workers to ensure that all regulations are adhered to. I administer medication to the clients and also advise Support Workers of any issues they need to be aware of regarding the clients. Everyone’s safety is of paramount importance and I have to make sure all policies and procedures are followed.”

Why do you like working for LSH?

“I started my psychiatric nursing in India. I’ve worked with children, adolescents and clients with learning disabilities in the past. Since coming to the UK I’ve also worked as a Deputy Manager in another nursing home. However, when this opportunity arose I was really keen to apply. I joined the company 2 years ago. It’s very varied and challenging and that’s what I like. I knew that the opportunities available within the company would be very good and the support and training I’ve received has been excellent.”

How have you developed since joining LSH?

“The training is very good here, I have worked for companies where we receive literally the basic and statutory training that is required, and if I wanted to improve or learn something new I would have to pay for it myself. With LSHG I don’t have to worry about paying for training, they have provided some brilliant training sessions, even things I would have never of thought of, and have been very keen and supportive in everything that I try to achieve, even my I.T. skills are much better than they used to be! The supervisions I receive here are also very good and supportive and have helped a lot with my development.”

Would you recommend working at LSH to a friend?

“Yes.”
