How would you summarise your role?

“ I am responsible for supporting clients in all areas of their wellbeing, both mental and physical. Our clients require differing levels of support depending on their respective needs so they all need very individual care plans. My role involves writing these care plans and also administering medication to the clients. I also carry out supervisions with the support team to ensure care levels are consistent. In addition to this there are always reports to be written for MDT meetings. I attend these meetings and then liaise with OTs, Physios and also clients’ GPs and Solicitors.”

Why do you like working for LSH?

“ I’ve worked in companies previously where there is no support but here it is really good. The training is good and staffing levels are very good so we have enough people to ensure we provide high standards of care to our clients. You are always reminded when there is training to attend or if refresher training is required, so you always know that your knowledge is current. The supervisions I receive are very helpful and I can always ask for additional training if it’s needed.”

How have you developed since joining LSH?

“ I’ve been with the company for 4 years. I’d never worked in Mental Health before so this was quite an eye opener for me. I’ve learned so much about this field now. My overall nursing knowledge is much greater now. The training and personal development is constant and has really helped me to become a better nurse. ”
